New Toy

Okay, I admit it. We bought a toy that’s all about us. We don’t go out to shows or travel or spend lots of money on anything else, but we do love to watch movies, sports, The History Channel, etc. So, we bought a toy to make that aspect of our life more fun.
Here’s the toy:
For scale reference, the TV is a little over three feet tall and the stand is a little less than three feet tall. The top of the TV is about even with the top of my head (I’m about 6′). This is a Sony KDS60A2000 60″rear-projection HDTV. For those who know, this has a honest-to-goodness 1080P HDMI input. I won’t really get to see what that means until we watch some HiDef DVDs or get to play with a Playstation 3.
The TV is cool, but I’m really proud of the stand, too. Knowing how big the TV was and what we wanted, it was impossible to find a stand that we were willing to pay for. So, I built one. This was a great opportunity to use my router and router table (Christmas and Father’s Day gifts respectively). I’m really happy with how clean it makes this room as the cables are all hidden inside the stand which sits flush against the wall.
