WordPop!

January 3rd, 2009 by Wyatt

As some of you know, I use my copious free time (ha!) to work for Smart Box Design. We make casual games for mobile devices. We’ve primarily been focused on Palm and Windows Mobile devices and smart phones. That is, until now. As of January 2, we now have our first iPhone application available on the Apple AppStore called WordPop! If you have iTunes installed, this link will take you to the WordPop! page on the store.

We’re very excited about deploying our games on a much richer device with a much wider audience. If you have an iPhone or iPod Touch, please try it out. We think you’ll love it!

I’m addicted. It is so cool to be playing a game written by one of my programming students.

Do you remember writing Hangman in Basic back in the Dark Ages? How about playing Maj Jong on an Apple ][gs?

Of course for me to give you an A I would need to see your flow chart. 8-)

It’s very cool to hear that you like this game so much. It’s kind of a full-circle thing, eh?

I absolutely remember writing those BASIC games and how cool I thought the ][gs was. I still remember the Computer Club parties at my house (wow, how nerdy do I sound?).

We’ve actually done a few games for other handheld devices that we plan on redesigning for the iPhone. I’m having a blast!

Thanks for letting me know you like it!
